Economic Development
Local Mission
Our community is committed to fostering sustainable economic development that supports local businesses, attracts new investment, and enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. Through thoughtful planning, strategic partnerships, and responsible infrastructure improvements, we strive to create an environment where businesses can thrive while preserving the character and values that make our town unique. We welcome entrepreneurs, support workforce development, and encourage innovation, all while maintaining a strong sense of community and stewardship for future generations.
Statewide Economic Development Programs
The Montana Department of Commerce leads statewide efforts to grow the economy by offering grants, loans, and technical assistance to businesses and communities. Programs focus on business development, tourism promotion, public infrastructure improvements, and affordable housing initiatives, all aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth across the state. The Community Development Block Grant Economic Development (CDBG-ED) Program specifically targets job creation and retention for low- to moderate-income Montanans, providing low-interest loans, payment deferrals, and employee training support.
