Drug Takeback Day – April 26, 2025 | 10 AM – 2 PM | Ennis Town Hall

Spring cleaning? Don’t forget your medicine cabinet.

Old, unused, or expired medications can be dangerous in the wrong hands. More and more teens are misusing prescription and over-the-counter drugs—often from the family medicine cabinet—without understanding the serious risks.

In fact, in 2022, 1 in 11 high school students reported using prescription drugs without a doctor’s order at least once. After vaping, marijuana, and alcohol, prescription medications are the most commonly misused substances among teens. Misusing them—even once—can affect the brain and body just like street drugs.

Let’s work together to prevent drug misuse, overdose, and addiction in our community.

Bring your unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications—including pet meds and prescription patches (pill and patch form only). You can leave medications in their original containers, and if you prefer, remove any personal information from the label.

Please note: This event is for household medication only. We are not able to accept medications from businesses, clinics, or healthcare facilities.

Even if you don’t have medications to drop off, swing by and say hello—we’d love to see you!

Together, we can keep Ennis and Madison County safer.
