The park remains closed to all foot traffic. Lions Park is closed and will remain closed until further notice for everyone’s safety.
The first picture of the Madison River was taken about 10am. When I finished my walk of the park and speaking with people who feel the park is only closed for others, the river had risen quite a bit. The second picture is about 11am. This shows how unpredictable the river can be and how important it is to stay out of the park until it is open.
I understand this is a community park but PLEASE, don’t put your emergency responders at risk by choosing to ignore the closure.
