Lions Park Flooding

posted in: News and Events | 0

On Sunday December 18th, 2022 the Madison River gorged. The gorge again this year caused water to enter Lions Park on the east side where the levy failed last year. Water is currently entering the park at a moderate pace through the repaired levy. The drainage ditch running from the pond to the north is currently moving much of the excess water out of the park. Currently no flooding is west of the pond and drainage ditch.

For everyone’s safety at this time Lions Park east of the 3 pedestrian bridges is closed due to the flooding. Please avoid the area. The windblown snow is covering some of the deep water and causing a dangerous situation. Ennis Fishing Access has also been closed by FWP due to the flooding and gorge.

We will post updates as the conditions change.
