NorthWestern Energy has scheduled a power outage for the community of Ennis and nearby Madison Valley on Nov. 9, 2017, beginning at 2 a.m. and ending at about 5 a.m.
The outage, which will affect about 3,100 customers, will allow NorthWestern crew to safely complete upgrades to the electric system in the area.
The upgrades are intended to minimize the number and duration of outages due to storms and other events and improve the reliability of service to area customers.
The upgrade project has involved rebuilding a substation next to the fairground in Ennis. A substation north of the community has also seen significant upgrade work. The project will also allow system operators to remotely restore power in some instances, potentially reducing the length of outages.
NorthWestern Energy has invested more than $1 million in this project.
NorthWestern will work to notify customers, local officials and community leaders about the outage and the completion of the upgrade project.
NorthWestern Energy apologizes for any inconvenience this planned outage may cause. For any questions or concerns, please call our Customer Contact Center at (888) 467-2669.
